About

Daksha is the annual leadership conclave of the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and academicians to explore the ideas, shifts, and questions shaping the future of business and leadership.

At its heart, Daksha is a space for meaningful conversations, where industry experience meets academic inquiry, and where strategy meets empathy, data meets ethics, and innovation meets purpose. Over the years, it has grown into one of IIM Tiruchirappalli’s most anticipated platforms for thought leadership, bringing diverse perspectives together to spark ideas that extend beyond the conversations themselves.

DAKSHA
RESEARCH
STUDIO

Back to the problem. Before moving forward.

As part of DAKSHA 5.0, Daksha Research Studio creates a space for leaders to pause, step back, and examine the difficult organisational challenges behind the decisions they make. Because sometimes, the most important step towards a better decision is returning to the problem itself.

The Studio brings together senior industry leaders, IIM Tiruchirappalli faculty, doctoral scholars, and peer leaders around real, unresolved organisational challenges. Selected participants bring a challenge they have been grappling with, one that has resisted conventional solutions despite managerial attention.

The conversation then moves beyond the usual search for answers. The problem owner presents the challenge, followed by a period of clarification and questioning. Faculty, doctoral scholars, and fellow leaders work together to unpack assumptions, explore alternative explanations, distinguish symptoms from underlying causes, and identify what evidence may still be missing.

The Studio culminates in a clearer framing of the challenge and a deeper understanding of the questions that matter before the next decision is made.

In keeping with DAKSHA 5.0's theme, “Back to Square One: The Long Game of Ethical Leadership,” the Studio asks leaders to look beyond speed, outcomes, and conventional measures of success, and reflect on the choices, assumptions, and consequences that shape organisations over the long term.

LEADERSHIP CONCLAVE
Back to Basics: The Long Game of Ethical Leadership

Speed, optics, and short-term wins increasingly define success. Students turn to AI for quick answers, leaders trade tomorrow for today, and workplaces reward output over people. Young professionals chase compensation and validation, only to find themselves disengaged. When growth is built on fragile foundations, one question remains: is success without integrity really success?

DAKSHA 5.0 returns to a first principle of leadership: ethics. Not as a rulebook imposed by institutions, but as an inner discipline that shapes decisions, relationships, and organisations. IIM Tiruchirappalli brings together leaders who have lived this tension, leaders who can speak not only about what they achieved, but also about what they chose not to compromise along the way.

Closing Reflections

quote

IIM Tiruchirappalli welcomes you to Daksha 5.0.
The annual leadership conclave of IIM Tiruchirappalli. This year, Daksha explores the theme “Back to Basics: The Long Game of Ethical Leadership,” inviting us to reflect on the principles that make leadership meaningful and enduring in a world shaped by rapid growth, technological change and the pressure for immediate results. Ethical leadership is reflected in the choices leaders make when ambition meets accountability, convenience meets conviction, and short-term gains meet long-term responsibility. As part of this edition, we are also introducing the Daksha Research Studio, a new academic-industry initiative that brings senior leaders together with faculty and doctoral scholars to examine complex organisational challenges through rigorous inquiry and diverse perspectives. Through Daksha 5.0, we bring together leaders and practitioners to engage with these questions and explore how integrity, responsibility and trust can shape organisations that are built not merely to succeed, but to endure. I invite you to join us for these conversations and be part of this journey.
